This drives digitally-controlled proportioning of current simultaneously between multiple windings gives high torque at low speed without the jarring accelerations of traditional step motors. It has complex wave-shaping circuitry which allows significant compensation for many of the mechanical and electrical imbalances found in step motors. The precision of the drives power proportioning techniques yields exceptional repeatability while maintaining the open-loop accuracy and ease of use characteristic of steppe motors.
