The Diavac DPF-4ZS is a water-cooled oil diffusion vacuum pump designed for producing high-vacuum conditions in scientific, industrial, and electron microscopy equipment. This pump assembly is associated with the Hitachi S-2460N Scanning Electron Microscope and includes vacuum valves used to control and isolate sections of the vacuum system. The diffusion pump operates by heating specialized vacuum oil to produce high-velocity vapor jets that capture and direct gas molecules toward the backing pump, allowing the system to achieve pressures substantially below those attainable with mechanical roughing pumps alone. The DPF-4 series provides a nominal pumping speed of approximately 380 liters per second without a baffle and 215 liters per second with a baffle.
